JEE Main 2019: Top NITs with expected opening and closing JEE Main Rank 2019

National Testing Agency, NTA would be conducting the JEE Main 2019 examinations in the month of April. About 9.54 lakh candidates have registered for the April examination. While most of the students who appear for JEE Main aspire to get shortlisted for JEE Advanced 2019 and subsequent admission to IITs. However, not all would be able to crack the IITs. Here is a look at the Top NITs or National Institutes of Technology and the JEE Main Rank you may need to get admission in them.

NITs are also national level technical institutes and are often considered a step below IITs. Some of the NITs (like NIT Trichy, Warangal, Kurukshetra, etc.), compete with many new IITs. However, unlike Indian Institutes of Technology, the admission is done on the basis of JEE Main ranks. Here is a look at some of the top NITs in the country along with expected cut off for opening and closing ranks of JEE Main 2019.

Please note that the ranks provided are for Computer Science and Engineering B. Tech four year course based on JEE Main 2018 result. Also, the opening and closing ranks provided are for General Category. Notably, Computer Science engineering is the most preferred course. Also, the ranks for reserved category are lower as compared to General Category.

Also, HS related to Home State and OS relates to Outside State. All the institutes have a seperate quota for students from within the state and outside. NIT Warangal, which is in Telangana, also have a seperate reserved category for students belonging to Andhra Pradesh.

Also, only the Top 15 NITs have been picked up for the list. There are a total of 31 NITs in India. For the ranking, NIRF or National Institution Ranking Framework 2018 Ranking for Engineering colleges has been picked. NIT Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal and Surat have lower ranks as compared to the others. Also, the preference and location makes for the larger than expected variance in the opening and closing ranks at various NITs.
